What happens when I cancel a booking?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, requiring you to cancel a booking. However, we aim to minimize disruptions to renters' plans and maintain trust within the Otto community. 


This guide will help you understand Otto's cancellation policy and its implications, including refunds and potential host suspensions.


How to cancel a booking?

Reach out to Otto customer support via sms, whatsapp, or chat, and someone from our team will work with you to get the booking adjusted or canceled 🛟.

When you cancel a booking, the following will happen:

Cancellation made with more than 1 week to pick up date:

  • The renter will be fully refunded for the cancelled booking
  • Penalties = No penalty and no impact to your listings


Cancellation made less than 1 week to pick up date:

  • The renter will be fully refunded for the cancelled booking
  • Penalties = your listings positions in search results or temporary suspension  


💡 To minimize the need for cancellations, we recommend managing your calendar accurately to ensure that your vehicle is only available for booking when its truly accessible to renters
